Suspected gay arraigned for allegedly defiling twins
A 30-year-old man suspected to be a homosexual, Godface Ibama, has
been arraigned before a Magistrate’s Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers
State, for alleged defilement. The accused person, who was arraigned,
yesterday, was alleged to have had carnal knowledge of twin brothers,
Elijah Justine Emmanuel and Elisha Justine Emmanuel, aged seven years
respectively.
Ibama was alleged to have committed the offence on August 23, 2013, at Urualla waterfront, Mile 1, Diobu, Port Harcourt. He was arraigned on a two-count charge and the offence is punishable under Section 214 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Volume II Laws of Rivers State, 1999.
The charge read thus: “That you, Godface Ibama on August 23, 2013, at Urualla waterfront, Mile 1, Diobu, Port Harcourt, in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District, did have an unlawful carnal knowledge of one Elijah Justine Emmanuel aged seven years through the anus without his consent and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 214 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 37, Volume II laws of Rivers State, 1999.
Also, the accused was said to have “on the same date and place in the aforesaid magisterial district, had unlawful carnal knowledge of one Elisha Justine Emmanuel aged seven years through the anus and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 214 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 37, Volume II, Laws of Rivers State, 1999.”
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The trial Magistrate, Alayuwo Elkanah Fubara, adjourned the matter till September 11, 2013, for argument on bail.
